TRUMPower has unveild the medical grade TMC500 series of 450-500W AC/DC switching power supplies that is BF rated, featuring a high operation altitude of up to 5,000m.
The series meets IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 Edition 3.1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1:2012, CSA C22.2 No. 60601-1: 2014 and the 2nd edition of IEC/EN 60950-1.
It can withstand voltage of 4,000VAC from input to output (2 MOPP), 1,500VAC from input to ground (1 MOPP), 1,500VAC from output to ground (1 MOPP). Earth leakage current is 300µA maximum at 264VAC, 63Hz.
The series includes eight standard single output models between 12V-57V, delivering 450-500W of continuous power at 30 CFM forced air, each of which accepts an input voltage of 90 to 264VAC. 350W-400W is available at convection. Output voltage is factory preset specifically to meet the user’s request.
All models may be operated at no-load without damage with the output voltage fluctuating beyond five percent due to the burst-mode operation of the IC control for energy saving purposes.
Having comprehensive protection circuitry, the power supply includes over-voltage, over-current, short circuit, and thermal protections. Additional features include PFD, remote sense, output inhibit, 5V/200mA standby power, 12V/300mA fan power or auxiliary output. The units can be fully loaded at -10°C to +50°C ambient, with derating required from 100% at +50°C linearly to 50% at +70°C. The series proves to be highly reliable with its 250,000-hour minimum MTBF at full load, 25°C ambient, calculated per MIL-HDBK-217F.
The TMC500 complies with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards including EN 55011/FCC/VCCI class B conducted and class A radiated, EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-4-2 (ESD at 15kV air and 8kV contact), EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-8, EN 61000-4-11.
It achieves an efficiency of 90% typically and is compliant with RoHS requirements. Packaged in a 4x7x1.68” compact size, the units are constructed on a circuit board that contains a U-bracket for mechanical support and heat sinking. A cover and fan assembly is optional and can be added during manufacturing if user requires the enclosed form factor.
