Medical power supplies simplify installation

Medical power supplies from Fidus Power are rated at 600, 800 and 1,000W and comply to the latest medical approvals. They also have common features to simplify installation and inventory management, says the company.

The Versatile Power series can be used in multiple applications where standardising on a single reference power platform can simplify installation footprints rather than stocking variants with different mechanical installation requirements.

Common features include approvals for safety IEC 60601-1 (ed 3.1 BF rated) and EMC immunity IEC 60601-1-2 (ed 4), so that designs can be future-proofed, says the company. There is also universal input range and output voltages from 12 to 58V DC for use worldwide. The power supplies all have low inrush current of 25A maximum to allow parallel AC primary connection of up to three units when using the load share function to support more demanding applications, delivering up to 27,00W. There is a ±3% output voltage adjust and remote sense to assist with voltage drop on longer cable runs. The signal I/O includes power-good, remote on/off, load share, current limit and 5.0V standby for control and monitoring.

The 600 and 800W models measure 127 x 216 x 41mm (5.0 x 8.5 x 1.61 inches) and the 1000W unit has dimensions of 127 x 242 x 41mm (5.0 x 9.51 x 1.61 inches), both suitable for 1U installations. All models feature over-temperature, over-voltage, over- current and short circuit protection and an operating temperature from -40 to +70°C (with derating).

The units are perfect for body floating applied part applications where the safety requirements need to be higher than standard operator safety levels.

The company provides free engineering samples, delivered from stock on short lead-times. All models are backed by the company’s five-year warranty and have 3D step files readily available for quick CAD integration.
