Low power DC/DC converters for critical medical designs
Aiming to show its development expertise, RECOM, has introduced medical-grade DC/DC modules which offer 3.5, 5 and 6W. These converters reportedly offer all key features required for critical medical applications while keeping down the cost of these modular solutions.
The REM3.5E, REM5E and REM6E series of medical grade regulated DC/DC converters feature reinforced 250VAC continuous working isolation with more than eight millimetre creepage/clearance providing two times MOPP. They qualify for medical B, BF and CF applications due to their low one microamp leakage current.
The compact DIP24 package with industry standard pinout provides reinforced insulation of up to 10kV DC, which is sufficient for virtually every medical application. The tightly regulated single/dual outputs come with UVLO, SCP, OCP and OVP.
The modules operate beyond 80% of efficiency in a wide temperature range from -40°C up to +85°C without derating. They are UL marked and certified to CB, IEC, EN and ANSI/AAMI 60601 third edition Safety and fourth edition EMC medical standards.
