SL Power has announced two new external power supply families to provide medical equipment with the highest level (Level VI) of efficiency and reliability. Rated at 150 and 240W respectively, the ME150 and ME240 families are compact desktop-style units with a range of output voltages and connector options. These new power supplies are suitable for medical monitoring applications such as bedside monitors and oximeters, and home healthcare equipment such as TENs units and infusion pumps.

The new ME150 and ME240 families will meet the 4th edition EMC (60601-1-2) requirements, Class B EMI, and two means of patient protection (2xMOPP) isolation.

They make it easier for medical Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to certify their medical devices. Class II input variants of these families allows operation in applications where there is no earth ground connection, making it suitable for use in a range of applications such as medical, dental or home healthcare, where it is more likely to have user contact.

Long life electrolytic capacitors (e-caps) and a high MTBF underline the reliability of these new power supplies while a three year warranty gives customers confidence in their choice of power conversion partner.

SL Power designs its power supplies to help OEMs overcome the toughest power challenges and its medical power supplies are designed for medical equipment that saves and sustains lives. Both families offer protection from overload, over temperature and overvoltage conditions as well as short circuit protection.
