Morgan Advanced Materials has announced that it now has the capability to design and manufacture components for use in High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technologies, particularly in medical applications. Morgan is producing HIFU ultrasound transducers in a range of shapes and geometries, from 5 to 150mm in diameter and with frequencies between 200kHz and 8MHz.

Murata has announced it has introduced the NXJ1, a series of single output, high reliability, high isolation, 1W surface-mount DC/DC converters designed for medical products, with other applications in industrial, transport and telecoms markets. Manufactured by Murata Power Solutions and measuring only 13.72x10.46x4.36mm, this compact low-profile series features six models comprising nominal input voltage options of 3.3, 5 or 12VDC and single outputs of 3.3, 5, 12 or 15VDC.
